Historical Society Announces New Article About the Presence of Hollywood Homes in Palm Springs10/6/2022
Palm Springs, California -
Geoffrey Moore Realtor, who offers Palm Springs houses for sale, wants to point out Palm Springs Historical Society’s new article that focuses on the homes used by Hollywood celebrities that can be found in Palm Springs, CA. There have been so many homes of celebrities in Palm Springs that realtors often used the fact that a Palm Springs home was formerly the home of a movie star to arouse curiosity and interest in that particular home that is for sale. The presumption is that a house formerly inhabited by a Hollywood celebrity is likely to be more charming than a regular house. Some of the Hollywood stars who had homes in Palm Springs were Frank Sinatra who had the “Twin Palms” house, Shirley Temple, Charlie Farrell, Ralph Bellamy, Dinah Shore, Kirk Douglas, Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Elvis Presley, Sonny Bono, and more. The Palm Springs Society is also hosting the “Hollywood at Home in Palm Springs” multimedia show to be presented by Jim Cook and Vinny Stoppia on October 14, 2022. Geoffrey Moore is pointing out to the article to show how charming the homes that can be found in Palm Springs are and to arouse the curiosity of those who may be interested in former homes of celebrities. There is actually a wide variety of homes available in the area. He says, “Palm Springs real estate stands out due to the abundance of mid-century modern houses on the market. These homes have given the community an amazing vintage atmosphere that exudes old glamour. Although many of the homes here share the same beloved mid-century style, they are far from the same. Each of the Palm Springs houses for sale display their own unique features and characteristics, creating a highly diverse market.” It is important to note that the mid-century modern style, often observed when looking at the real estate market in Palm Springs, is highly distinctive because it represents a dynamic era that is clearly differentiated from others. Such homes are typically sleek and angular, and exude an air of clean and functional elegance. The various features of these homes, such as the open garages, flat or sloped roofs, and splashes of color clearly display the era’s optimistic outlook for the future. The sunny location of these homes necessitates the presence of functional outdoor living spaces. And the Palm Springs houses were able to achieve the art of al fresco living with their long patios, refreshing water features, and sparkling swimming pools. Indeed, these homes are focused on lifestyle, which is why it is not difficult to imagine celebrities living in such homes. But despite the common themes in Palm Springs homes, they are of a wide variety of styles, such as ranchers with interiors of the 1960s, and Mediterranean villas and cottages that exude Spanish charm and elegance. Some of the homes can be found in gated communities with country clubs nearby. Geoffrey Moore Realtor is focused on helping clients realize their dream home. Palm Springs, California -
Geoffrey Moore Realtor, a Palm Springs real estate firm, has noted with interest that investors have been pouring millions into properties in affordable communities, such as the Desert Highland Gateway Estates. And it has been reported that some have been making significant returns on their investments and are pushing up prices. Thus, Geoffrey Moore, who offers Palm Springs real estate listings, is urging homebuyers not to delay if they plan to buy a property in the Desert Highland Gateway Estates. This type of Palm Springs community is very popular among first time homebuyers because of the relatively low prices, ranging from $200,000 to $300,000. However, with more investors getting interested in the properties, the prices might not stay that way for long. Many of the homes that are available for sale in Desert Highland Gateway Estates were constructed in the mid century and therefore have architectural features that were the trend at that particular time, such as large windows, stucco exteriors, and flat roofs. It should be noted, however, that although some of the homes have been carefully renovated to have every modern amenity possible, other homes still need more care. It can easily be seen why this particular real estate community is very attractive for real estate investors who want to purchase a home and fix it up and then resell it. Since the house prices are relatively low, there is a lot of room for them to gain a profit. For example, renovated homes are getting sold for up to $400,000. Meanwhile, Palm Springs is part of the Coachella Valley, which is the location of various wintertime resort cities. Thus, Geoffrey Moore Realtor also provides information on the Coachella Valley real estate market. And another attractive feature of the homes at Desert Highland Gateway Estates is that this community is in a prime location. It is situated in the north of Palm Springs and it is bordered by Mountain Gate and Racquet Club West. In addition, it is just a five-minute drive to and from the downtown strip where there is a wide range of cafes, boutiques, and restaurants. It is also only a 10-minute drive to North Palm Springs where there is a significant number of grocery stores and pharmacies. Also not too far from the community is the San Jacinto State Park, which enables residents to go for hikes through the attractive mountain landscape of the 13,000-acre state park that has more than 50 miles of trails in the mountains above the Sonora Desert. The Aerial Tramway also provides a convenient way for attaining the top of the mountain, which provides one of the best views of Palm Springs. And what many homebuyers find to be attractive in the location of the Desert Highland Gateway Estates is availability of family-centered amenities. For instance, there is a significant number of public schools close by. Some of these schools include: Vista Del Monte Elementary School; Raymond Cree Middle School; and Montessori School- Palm Springs California. Geoffrey Moore Realtor has the key goal of helping all clients realize their dream home. Geoffrey Moore is an Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR®), a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), and has a Graduate, Realtor® Institute (GRI) designation. He is ready to help the homebuyer look for the most suitable home in an efficient manner. Meanwhile, he understands that selling a house is a very challenging task, which is why he is ready to facilitate the process for home sellers. He is also a Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) with significant experience in marketing different properties and showing in the best manner possible. In negotiating the selling price for the property, he will ensure that the seller will get the best possible price according existing market conditions. Palm Springs, California -
Palm Springs, CA based Real Estate Agent Geoffrey Moore is reaching out to share comment on the local real estate market’s diminished growth in recent times. As a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate Realtor® Institute (GRI), and an Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR®), Moore’s expertise touches on every aspect of the industry, and his experience has largely served to expand his intuition even further. This means his insights can prove highly valuable for those who want to take advantage of Palm Springs real estate opportunities. While some might look at the market’s direction and interpret it as a slump, caused by rising mortgage rates, Moore says this should not deter serious buyers or investors from looking for ways to benefit in the current market. Homes, he says, are still in high demand, and Palm Springs was notorious for having an extremely active real estate industry — one that remains one of the top employers in the valley to this day, since long before the most recent health crisis prompted upheaval across the country. His advice to his community is simple: this is a good time to invest in real estate in the Palm Springs area, before interest rates go higher and while homes are in demand. According to Moore, Palm Springs is still one of the most desirable places to live in the state, and many retirees have already invested in their peace of mind by buying houses here. With a jaw-dropping desert landscape, a view of the mountains (the Little San Bernardino Mountains to the north, the Santa Rosa Mountains to the south and the San Jacinto Mountains to the west) and a blend of culture and civilization that is unique to the area, there is little to keep anyone from making the move if they have the means. It also offers a very desirable standard of living, especially when compared with similarly priced accommodations in Los Angeles, Orange County and so on. Moore also makes it a point to keep an eye on every new development in the market, and he assures buyers that there are still many beautiful Palm Springs houses if they wish to get involved soon. Along with offering his advice — to avoid standing aside while these opportunities pass by — he offers his indispensable services as a real estate agent. Notably, many have already benefited enormously from his assistance, and their testimonials can illustrate what new buyers stand to gain with him as a partner. Cassandra C. says in their Google review, “Geoff was fantastic to work with. He helped my husband and I find our first home in Palm Springs. We were unfamiliar with the area and his knowledgeable insight of Palm Springs was very helpful. He was patient with us during the stressful process of purchasing a home during this competitive market. Geoff was in constant communication with us and put our minds at ease. On top of it all, he put together a trades list for us to reference some of the best contractors in the area. We are so grateful to have met Geoff and can't wait to work with him again in the future. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a kind, flexible and non-pushy realtor. He will be committed to you from start to finish!” Nancy E. also says, “We listed our mid-century Palm Springs home with Geoff, and could not have found a better realtor. He met with us and was very knowledgeable about our area, and market values of similar homes. He helped us decide on a realistic price and gave advice on what we needed to do to get our home ready to show. He was prompt in returning phone calls, texts and emails. Geoffrey definitely enjoys what he does and is very professional and efficient.” Palm Springs real estate buyers may contact Geoffrey Moore today to begin looking for their next home. He brings a good-natured yet determined personality to every meeting with his clients, and he is always eager to help them achieve their real estate goals. Moore can be reached via phone, email and various social media platforms. The real estate agent is encouraging his senior LGBTQ+ clients to find out more about the community which is currently accepting reservations. Living Out bills itself as an elegant apartment community for active LGBTQ 55+ adults. On its website, it says that it is designed to be a “beautiful, welcoming, safe, and inclusive living experience that celebrates the vibrancy of living authentically as an LGBTQ person.” The apartment complex has been designed keeping in mind the mid-century modern design that Palm Springs is well-known for. Its construction ethos features open floor plans, large lanais, an inviting grand lobby, desert mountain views of the San Jacinto, Santa Rosa, and San Gorgonio Mountains, and dramatically landscaped grounds. The apartment community features several indoor lifestyle amenities such as an upscale full-service restaurant and bar, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a massage studio, a private hair, manicure, and pedicure salon, a screening room for watching movies and entertaining guests, and community, game, card, and arts & crafts rooms. Outdoors, the real estate project boasts of a nine-acre oasis with more than six acres of dramatic landscaping including curated trees, shrubs, flowering plants, herb gardens, rose gardens, orchards, a large event lawn, outdoor BBQ and dining areas, walking trails, and more. There is also a grand resort-style pool and three separate jacuzzi spa areas, a dog park with amenities, two professionally designed bocce ball courts, real grass putting green, and residential, guest, and retail parking. When it was announced, the project was set to offer condominiums to buyers within a price range of $600,000 to $900,000. However, post the coronavirus pandemic, the company behind the project, Los-Angeles based KOAR International, decided to shift to a rental model, in line with other senior independent living communities that it manages in other parts of the state. When asked about the considerations to make while moving to Palm Springs as someone who identifies as LGBTQ+, Geoffrey Moore says, “Are you an LGBTQ+ individual or family unit that is considering moving to Palm Springs? In that case, you are going to be welcomed by the friendliest community filled with kindred spirits that understand your struggle and will try to make you feel at home in this lovely and vibrant resort city. To make your transition to Palm Springs as smooth and hassle-free as possible, I recommend visiting the city and living here for some time before committing to moving here. Live here for a couple of months and experience the many notable and iconic gay events on our calendar such as the Dinah Shore Weekend, Greater Palm Springs Pride, White Party Palm Springs, Cinema Diverse Palm Springs LGBTQ Film Festival, Desert AIDS Walk, and more. A lot of the residents who are currently lapping up the private properties in Palm Springs began by moving here temporarily. They experienced the inclusive and inviting atmosphere of the city for all LGBTQ+ individuals and loved it so much that they couldn’t wait to call this place home. So, give our desert oasis a try and when you are ready to pick out the perfect spot in the city to settle in, give me a call and I’ll put all my resources behind you to find a dream picturesque abode that will let you enjoy the legendarily sunny California weather.” Geoffrey Moore has designations from or is certified as a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate Realtor® Institute (GRI), Seller Representative Specialist (SRS), GREEN Designated Realtor® and Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR®) – all of which are recognized by the National Association of Realtors®. Palm Springs may be known for its amazing golf courses and tropical weather, but it's even better known for its mid-century modern architecture. The city is brimming with these beautiful mid-century modern homes, which gives the area an aesthetically pleasing, unique style.. You know you're looking at a mid-century modern home if it's built with three prominent characteristics, the first being minimalism. These homes have sleek lines and simple designs that prioritize functionality over everything else. Nothing about the architecture of these homes is superfluous. The next characteristic is an emphasis on nature. And what better place to bring nature into the home than in Palm Springs? Most of these homes have large floor-to-ceiling windows that invite the outdoors inside. The other key attribute of mid-century modern homes is their unique angular designs. Expect to find homes with non-uniform, asymmetrical rooflines that defy conventional architecture. All of this sounds pretty nice, right? Well, the good news is that Palm Springs has no shortage of these gorgeous homes. We've come up with a list of the neighborhoods that have the most beautiful mid-century modern homes in Palm Springs: Old Las Palmas Old Las Palmas is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, so it's known as one of the best places to search for mid-century modern homes in all of Palm Springs. The neighborhood of Old Las Palmas was established in the 1920s, right when mid-century modern design was becoming popular in the United States. With an eye to history, most of the homes in this area have stuck to this trend — even the newer builds. You can find the most beautiful mid-century modern homes in Old Las Palmas on streets such as N Rose Avenue, N High Road, and W Via Lola. These homes are not only beautiful in design, but luxurious in their features. Sunmor Sunmor is located next to Palm Springs International Airport in the central city. Although a community located next to an airport seems like an unlikely spot to find some of the most beautiful homes in the city, this is not the case for Palm Springs. This is because much of the real estate in Sunmor was developed in the late 50s, early 60s—the peak of the mid-century modern fad. Mid-century modern homes in Sunmor emphasize the outdoor element more than the homes in any other community. The most popular streets to find these homes include N Farrell Drive, E Andreas Road, and E Plaimor Avenue.
